Biography

“The time has come to seal the lips, and let the flower talk”
- Branko Miljkovic

The group KOMA was formed in 2009, in Novi Sad, Serbia. “We aim to communicate our artistic ideas solely through instrumental music. Away from words and lyrical expressions, which in today’s world, carry diminished sense and credibility, the goal is to present our audience with emotional, instrumental impression of the universe around us. Every song assumes an“image” – an experience or recollection from real life.

The band was initiated by Comi and Savara. “While conceptualizing our compositions, the quest for a fuller, more distinct sound, brought the need for a third band member. We were joined by Saska DB, and the band was named KOMA. “After few months of polishing the existing songs, Koma was ready to put them on a tape. In March 2010, the Band entered the RTV Novi Sad Recording Studio One. Live sessions produced eight demo“images”under the name “Live in Koma”.

During the summer of 2010, ComiSaska and Savara performed at Exit and NišVille, two of the currently most prominent music festivals in the region, as well as at Gitarijada Ratkovo concerts.  The fall of the same year saw the completion of ten additional songs, which were premiered at a Roadies Club show, in their hometown of Novi Sad. The following six months of intensive rehearsals led the band into Studio “Alpha” (Novi Sad), where the recording and mixing took place from May until September of 2011. The sound ripples you are about to absorb are the direct concoction of these efforts: “Made of Nothing”, an album of 14 compositions. Enjoy fiercely!
